Welcome to Finger Lakes Equestrians! 

 

 We are a friendly, family oriented club that is fun for all ages, skill-levels and styles.  Shows are held at the Trumansburg Fair Grounds for all to either participate, volunteer or spectate.  Come join us for a day of organized family fun!


 


 

The new classes for the 2010 season are as follows:
 
     Leadline
     Walk/Jog (12yrs and under)-ONLY walk/jog
     Beginner (13yrs+)-ONLY walk/jog
     Youth (13yrs and under)-walk/jog/canter
     Junior (14-18yrs)-walk/jog/canter
     Senior (19yrs+)-walk/jog/canter
 
**We apologize for anyone that feels as though there is not a class for them, however, we did our best to accomodate everyone taking time and numbers from last season into consideration!**
  
We also have adjusted 2010 fees, they are as follows:
 
     Annual Membership: $15/individual                       $20/family
     Show fees, All day:     $20-member                         $30-non-member
                     Per class:     $5-member                            $5-non-member
     Leadline: $1.00/available class
 
**Please note that new this year, the entry booth WILL BE CLOSED from 9am-9:15am so that classes can be organized and things can get started without delay, PLEASE make sure you sign-up timely**

Finger Lakes Equestrians Rules:

 

  • All Shows shall be governed by the Finger Lake Equestrians rules and regulations, using the current AQHA and 4-H rule books as guidelines.  The judges decision will be final!
  • A current negative coggins test and proof of rabies vaccination are REQUIRED at time of arrival on fairgrounds.
  • Coggins run for 2 calender years. Rabies certificates must be at least 2wks prior to show date.
  • Class entries must be made at least 2 classes in advance.  Any exhibitor entering the show ring that has not been registered will be dismissed from the class.
  • Hard hats are REQUIRED for all riders under 14 years of age anytime mounted on an equine either inside or outside the arena by New York State Law.  We encourage all riders to wear a helmet when mounted on a horse.  All Gymkhana riders must wear a helmet.
  • NO hitting a horse in front of the cinch.  This will be an automatic disqualification from the class.
  • NO abuse of an animal will be tolerated.  Anyone displaying abusive treatment to a person or animal will be disqualified and asked to leave.
  • NO stallions will be allowed to be shown by anyone under 18 years of age. 
  • Proper attire required.  Must ride in english or western boot.  No workboots allowed while showing.  No tank tops.  We do allow  riding in jeans but MUST have proper boot.
  • Horses must be in proper attire for the class.  No artificial aids will be allowed.
  • No refunds of entry fees.
  • One horse may be used for more than one division by different riders.
  • Walk/Jog may show halter classes and walk/jog only.  If anyone lopes in a walk/jog game class, the will be disqualified.
  • Gymkhana classes will have a 5 second penalty on a knockdown of a barrel or pole.  Off course will be a disqualification.
  • NO alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises.
  • Dogs shall only be allowed on premises with a current rabies tag and on a leash at all times.
  • Beginner classes will be walk/jog only, except during the timed game classes where they may lope/canter.
  • To accumulate year end points you must be a member of the Finger Lakes Equestrians before you ride.
  • FLE shows are PAC approved.
  • ALWAYS WALK HORSES OUTSIDE OF THE ARENA.  THERE WILL BE WARM UP TIMES IN THE ARENA!
